Chongqing Railway Middle School was founded in 1956 and has a long cultural and historical heritage. In 1970, it was transformed into a high school. In 1982, it was rated as one of the first key middle schools in Sichuan Province. In 1998, it was rated as one of the first key high schools in Chongqing municipality directly under the central government. In 2004, it was handed over to Jiulongpo District Government for management.
